  2. Why are the Joy/JM-brand My Little Steamer® and My Little Steamer® Go Mini being recalled?

    HSN is voluntarily recalling the Steamers in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) and Health Canada because the Steamers can expel, spray, or leak hot water during use, posing a serious burn hazard to consumers.

  3. How do I know if my handheld clothing steamer is affected by the recall?

    The recalled My Little Steamer® and My Little Steamer® Go Mini handheld clothing steamers were sold under the Joy/JM-brand between approximately 2002 and 2020. The recalled steamers were sold in two sizes: the standard (or deluxe) full-size My Little Steamer®, and the compact-size My Little Steamer® Go Mini. The steamers were sold individually or in combination sets in a variety of colors for between $10-$30 individually and between $20-$50 in combination sets. The Steamers have “Joy” or “JM” and “My Little Steamer” or “My Little Steamer Go Mini” printed on the side of the unit. Example photos of the Steamers are below.

  4. When and where were these My Littler Steamers® sold?

    The Steamers were sold on HSN.com and via the HSN television network, as well as in-store or online at various retailers, including Amazon, Target, Bed Bath and Beyond, Walmart, and Lowes. The Steamers were sold from 2002-2020.

  7. How do I participate/register for the recall?

    You will need to provide your name and contact information to register for the recall. HSN is offering affected consumers who provide proof of ownership and destruction, a cash payment or voucher. To receive a cash payment or voucher, you will need to submit a completed claim form, including a photo showing that you defaced the body of the My Little Steamer by making prominent marks with a dark, permanent marker and severed the electrical cord. After the Claims Administrator receives your completed claim form, the applicable cash payment or voucher will be sent to you. When you receive the cash payment or voucher, you should dispose of the disabled My Little Steamer in accordance with local trash and recycling requirements.

  8. What is the amount of the refund I will receive?

    The refund or voucher amount depends on the specific product you purchased, the purchase date, and the documentation you provide with your submitted claim. In summary:

    • For all recalled Steamers purchased new between January 2018 and December 2020: a full cash refund of the purchase price for each unit.
    • For My Little Steamer® Go Mini clothing steamers purchased new from January 2015 – December 2017: an $8.00 cash refund for each unit.
    • For My Little Steamer® clothing steamers purchased new from January 2015 – December 2017: a $12.00 cash refund for each unit.
    • For all recalled Steamers purchased new prior to January 2015: an $8.00 HSN voucher for each unit.
    • For all recalled Steamers for which consumers lack proof of purchase: an $8.00 HSN voucher for each unit, up to 10 units. For more than 10 units, proof of purchase must be provided.

  9. How do I deface my steamer?

    To submit a valid Claim Form you must show proof of ownership and proof of destruction of your steamer. Please follow the below steps:

    1. Deface the unit(s) with a permanent and prominent marking, e.g. writing “RECALLED” or “DEFECTIVE” in black marker on the unit;
    2. Cut the electrical cord to the unit making it inoperable; and
    3. Take a clear, readable photo of the defaced unit(s) to either be uploaded or attached with your Claim Form.

    TO RECEIVE A CASH PAYMENT OR HSN VOUCHER FROM THIS SETTLEMENT, YOU MUST SUBMIT A CLAIM, INCLUDING PROOF OF OWNERSHIP AND PROOF OF DESTRUCTION.

  10. What proof of purchase is required for my recalled My Little Steamer?

    If you purchased the Steamer directly from HSN, you can establish proof of purchase by simply including in your claim form the Unique ID referenced on the Notice form you should receive either via email or in the mail. If you purchased the Steamer from a retailer other than HSN, or for whatever reason you don’t receive a notice package with a Unique ID via email or U.S. mail, you can still submit a claim for monetary reimbursement. If you don’t receive a Unique ID, you can establish proof of purchase by providing a copy of your sales receipt for the product. Consumers who otherwise submit a valid claim, but do not have the required proof of purchase will receive an $8.00 HSN voucher. If you file a claim for more than 10 Steamers, however, you must provide the required proof of purchase.

  13. I am a consumer living in Canada; how do I participate in the recall?

    Canadian consumers should follow the same process for filing a claim in the recall as those living in the United States. You may file for the recall using the online claim form or, alternatively, you may download a copy of the Claim Form and mail it along with your proof of destruction (required) and proof of purchase (if available). Canadian customers will receive a partial or full refund based on their date of purchase.
